getaway... kauai

 

I am daydreaming of our trip this week.  As summer winds down all I can think of is the fun we have had and that the late nights and sleepy mornings are going to disappear so quickly.  Oh how I am going to miss them.  We visited Kauai in July just the four of us and it was so amazing.  We fell in love with the island all over again.  This is a little bit of our trip and the amazing beaches and sites...  (I am sparing you all of the food pictures that I took!)

Weekend Wishes...

 

After a busy week it is so nice to have a couple of days to relax, don't you agree?  We have family in town and plan to spend a bit of time pool side..

We are planning an early fall trip and I want this whole outfit just for one day.

Grey in the Hamptons..

 

The thought of summering in the Hamptons seems fabulous and this would be the perfect spot to catch up some R & R and see how things are done on the other side of the states.   This is just how I would design my beach house if I was so lucky to have one a simple modern eclectic mix!

Beach house inspiration..

Sometimes you just need to escape to a little beach house for some R and R.  I love all of the natural textures and white mixed with that pop of color...

beach time.. San Clemente, Ca

 

I made a little promise to myself for this year, well several actually, but this one involves you my lovely readers... I wanted to include more original content here on the blog.  I have a deep love for photography and I used to spend a lot of time taking photos, but had really abandoned it last year in the hurried life I was leading.  I promised myself that I would pick up my "big" camera and use it, really use it, try to capture more of my life in photos, my work in photos and all of the things that I want to share with you.  I found that through my love affair with instgram, that what I love most is manipulating the photos I take and the artistic part of changing them to how I want them to feel.  I hope you don't mind, it is just time to evolve a little here.  

I am hoping that it will also give us a chance to see a little more of California, as in get me out of the office a little more to inspire me creativity.  Besides who doesn't love the beach in the middle of January!

Design Travler: {San Juan Puerto Rico}

Mostly because I am pretty sure that this has been one of the longest weeks of my life and because I know that there is just more to come, I am dreaming of our relaxing days on vacation.  I fell for Old San Juan in Puerto Rico when we visited.  The buildings were colorful and the sea was beautiful there.  We visited the Fort and walked through the old town for a few hours in the steaming heat!  I do recommend an afternoon there if you are planning a visit.

I will finish up this "series" of posts on Puerto Rico in the next few weeks with a post about the Island of Vieques and a little more detail on the fabulous design of the hotel we stayed at.  (Sorry that most of the pictures are instagram, even though I love it, I left without the battery for my good camera so I had to improvise.)
