Project inspiration... beach house

 

When I start a project my imagination runs wild.  I think about the possibilities and the look that I want to achieve.  Sometimes it is more difficult than others but often my mind moves fairly quickly to where I want it to be.  Lately I have been pulling together inspiration images and keeping them organized by project, then narrow them down to share with my client.

I am working on a home in Redondo Beach, CA right now and I love the feel of the clean white walls with dark floors for the space.  This is my jumping off point and now I have to reign it all in to fit the budget and actual spaces.  I cannot wait to see how we do!

Travel daydreams.. Portugal

 

How is it Monday again?  It might be time to plan a trip....  maybe Portugal again.  It has been years since my last visit and I loved every bit of it!

Having some fun with Online design...

 

As we go into the New Year I always like to take a look back at what I have been doing in design.  I had the pleasure of working with some really wonderful clients over the past year and I do hope that this year will be equally full of them!  Here are a few idea boards for a client that is pretty much on my page all the time.  You gotta love that!

Garden antiques shop in Paris...

 

While shopping the flea markets in Paris on our trip we happened upon this sweet garden shop in the area.  I am not sure if it was part of the flea markets or not but it stole my attention in less than a second.  The creative displays made my heart skip a beat.  I snapped a picture of the flower box hedge before I had a chance to see how many inspiring spaces they had created.  

Each was a simple collection of vintage pieces but they were done so well, maybe it was the repetition or the negative space around them I am not sure even now, but I know it was they type of display that sticks in your memory.  I left feeling extremely inspired.  I loved everything about it!

Weekend Wishes...

 

Oh my goodness it has been quite a week and we are getting geared up for a busy weekend too!  I am wishing for this type of tranquility but it is not in the cards!  What are you up to this weekend?

Next week look for some additional changes here on the blog.  I am looking forward to starting up a series or two and you might notice some physical changes here and there too!

Thought I would share a few inspirations from this week with you too!

If I had the time I would definitely be making this. 

Certainly going to see how I can fit Montauk into some vacation plans this summer.

flash back...

 

I spent the better part of the day on Tuesday looking for inspiration to get my point across.   Often times it is the picture that inspires me when I design but sometimes I search for the perfect photo to convey what I am trying to do.  This week it was difficult!!  I did however find A LOT of inspiration in an archived issue of Lonny Magazine from a while back.. These are just a few of my favorites- there  are definitely more in this issue.  I wish each and every magazine came with so much wonderful inspiration to it!

inspired {tuesday}

 

I have been wandering around the internet for while and was feeling quite inspired.  I dream of doing this with my hair at least one day over the coming holiday weekend.  We shall see how far I get... but I absolutely love it.
