Happy weekend blog friends!  We are enjoying a little time on the slopes and playing in the snow, but I am dreaming of another type of vacation.

Here are a few things that caught my eye this week...

Notre Dame through the trees

 

I know it is not Spring it is surely Fall here but I was looking for some photos and came across my Paris pictures again, there are really alot of them!  I wanted to share a few more with you.  We visited Notre Dame on a cloudy rainy day and the light was so lovely through the green foliage of Spring.  The flowers were a bit worse for ware but still beautiful.

We have another busy week here on the blog as I prepare for the Holiday giveaway series and get ready to host a couple of book giveaways over the next few weeks.  As well as trying to bring you some amazing pictures to inspire your holidays.  Happy Tuesday!

Garden Inspiration from Arne Maynard..

 

Finding inspiration for the garden seems like it would not be difficult but I am not sure that I have found this much in just one place as of late.  I am deeply in love with the outdoor spaces that Arne Maynard has created and will be referring back to them often as I start to plant again here in our garden.  I think I may love everything I see.

How will my garden grow?

 

Who knew that planning for landscape can be so difficult.  I truly am jealous of landscape architects and their level of knowledge about plantings and layering of live materials.  I am currently scouring nurseries in the So. Cal area looking for the perfect pieces to add to my garden now that the pool project is almost complete.  We need trees like crazy that will shield us from nosy passersby but keep their leaves for year round green and such.   Needless to say I have bought not one tree but many varieties of Hydrangea have made it home with me for my shade garden.  I love the Magnolia trees and I think I finally found the one I was searching for with the pink flower.. now the question is where to put her and should I buy more than one?  Any advice is greatly appreciated as I know there are some really great gardeners out there with a wealth of knowledge (please share).  Here are a few of the beautiful things I have come across in the past weeks while trying to find just the right thing!

Winter...

 

Welcome to Winter!  How amazing to run down a chilly tree lined path... or ski on vintage skis.  

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend... relax and enjoy as much as possible.

just a little bit..

 

Oh my goodness we are in the final stretch here it seems.  Christmas is so close!  I finally got the house lightly decorated before my guests arrived on Saturday.  It is a little different from last year and fit my mood perfectly.  The lighting was a little off yesterday due to the rain so I am hoping for sun and I can show you something a little nicer.  These are just a few little bits and pieces.  

On Sunday I went to the flea market in Long Beach and picked up a few little goodies including some pillows to finish off the living room.. Love vintage textiles!
