Damask & Dentelle

I wanted to take a little time to introduce you to one of my wonderful sponsors Damask and Dentelle...  Their site is a great place for inspiration and an amazing design directory of sources for the Quebec area.   They have.. "more than 1000 addresses to discover across the province, Damask & Dentelle has become a true little black book of local “must sees”."  This is a great resource if you are a local or just visiting.

Take some time to visit their blog and their site which is full of inspiration...

Damask & Dentelle is a chance for you to discover unusual and unique pieces, from furnishings to the new “it store”, while not forgetting that fashionable lamp you have been looking for. Artists and artisans, decorators, home stagers and boutiques alike, you will find on our site products for your tastes in renovation, decoration, and interior design.

Just inspiration..

Some things just catch your eye and make your mind wander to wonderful places.  I was wandering through my favorite blogs yesterday and came across something from Tine K Home and fell into their site... I love their product images... so dreamy! So greige...

Lately I have felt a little overwhelmed by all of the trends and what is going on in design.  These types of things reign me in and help me to remember what I love so much simple, rustic, mixes filled with beautiful texture.

Inspiration

I am feeling a lot better today.   Barely got that post off before the flu hit me..
So much to do... so little time..  I will be searching for inspiration for a bunch of new projects that I am starting for the first part of the year today.  Please forgive me if I am slow to answer emails and get back to messages...  I working on catching up too....

Inspiration (commercially speaking)

I am knee deep in the process of designing a commercial space right now and I am completely inspired by the work of AvroKO.  We are taking the darker library approach with an industrial modern twist.  I am excited to use some wood flooring treatments for paneling on the walls and adding a brick to the space to create a sense of age that is not already there.  All of the details are like a layering effect in the space.  I have found so many ideas and they are all swimming around up there just waiting to get down on paper and made in physical forms.
It should be fun to say the least!

Inspiration by invitation...

A few of my favorite things...  French Chateau's, Peonies, vintage and Astier de Viallatte.  Surrounding yourself with people and things you love is the ultimate luxury.  They don't have to be the trendiest, newest and the most expensive or but they should be what makes you laugh, smile and bring you joy.

"To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion, to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly, to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart, to bear all cheerfully, to all bravely await occasions, hurry never. In a word, to let the spiritual unbidden and unconscious grow up through the common. This is to be my symphony."

William Henry Channing (1810-1884)

Today's post is part of a wonderful group of bloggers who have been brought together by Marsha over at Splenderosa.  This quote is a great example of how so many of us would like to live.  Stop by and see what everyone has come up with.

Wishing you a wonderful start to the short week!
