design daydream {restaurant design}

As a designer there is always something you would like to try your hand at, something that pulls at your creative strings..  right now mine is restaurant design.  I day dream about it and all of the fun creative things you could do.  Unique interesting conversation pieces that will make a space memorable along with the food and friends.  I love this space and the little details...

Neptune Glassworks {lighting}

In my line of work you come across so many amazingly talented people.  I met Uri several years ago at the flea market in Pasadena, when we got to talking I convinced him to make me some custom lights for my master bathroom, which I was remodeling at the time.  They are dreamy and my all time favorite pieces in there!  Just last night I was looking for some interesting lighting for a client and remembered how amazing he is as an artist and that he had started his own company - Neptune Glassworks.

While searching his site I thought it might be a great source to share here.. the lighting is some of the most beautiful and delicate I have ever seen, all the while it has that little industrial edge that I love.  What a gift to be able to create like this!

Texture and light...

Sometimes it is hard to see what makes a space really special and perfect...  here I can see it clearly.. the fantastic texture on the walls.  These look like block print molds and I love them!  The fact that they chose to hang them on the wood paneled walls makes it so interesting for me.

Aside from this beauty... we are getting ready for our Holiday Giving Series here on the blog, I cannot wait to share some wonderful shops with you again this year!

Happy Thursday!

Green accents in the dining room..

I love the light feeling in this space.  Just that little accent of green makes everything so good!

Wishing you a wonderful Monday to start your week.  This one promises to be a busy one here as the kids finally head back to school!

make a room out of it...

We have just added a bunch of great stuff into the shop... and I thought it might be fun to share a quick way to make a room from pieces in it.  It might also show you that I do have a rhyme and reason to the pieces that I hand select for the shop- I promise I do (!).

 When I select piece for the shop I always try to mix it up a little of this and a little of that, things that would work well together.  I love interiors that are a little more relaxed that way and not to trendy one way or another.  It is fun to pick a bit of the latest trend and mix it in, but not necessary! And I am sure from reading the blog you know I love vintage so I always want a little bit of that in there too.. accessories, art, textiles furnishings, whatever catches my eye.

dining room inspiration: casual lux

It has been a little while since I shared a lifestyle board with you.  This is for a client I am working with on her kitchen and dining remodel locally.  I am excited to see how it all comes out as she is still under construction and we are working hard to find the right fit for her dining room pieces.

I love the casual but lux feeling to the space that these pieces create.

Las Vegas Market Summer 2013

We spend Monday running through the Las Vegas Market.  I am so excited that the vendors have returned to the market this year with a wonderful amount of creativity and beautiful new product!  We found some great new pieces and vendors that I am so excited to share with you online and with my clients.  The displays were so inspiring I came back ready to design with everything.

Visual comfort was there for the first time. LOVE everything!

 Four Hands had a great new grouping of sofas..

There were flowers displayed everywhere.  If you did not come away with some great party inspiration I would be so surprised!

Gorgeous guileded lighting and mirrors..

Noir was wonderful as always!

Fun displays of reproduction vintage items.

My favorite art company was there!

I want this chaise piece- it is perfect and I love the fabric of course.

Jaipur for rugs..

I was excited to see Cisco Brothers in Vegas!  I love everything that they do and everything is made locally in Los Angeles so that makes it even better!

Art and details were what we were ordering though. I love this piece!

I almost died when I found these lights... amazing!

Tara Shaw mixing vintage and modern so well!  As well as the beautiful art of Christopher Marley at Pheromone.

At the end of the very busy day they served dinner and desert outside.  With music and entertainment going strong we rushed to catch our plane, next year we will plan a couple of days there now that the vendors have returned.
