here and there..

It is funny how everyday is so different even when it seems the same.  One little meeting can change your outlook for the next year in a good or bad way, or maybe just in a different way.  It seems that no matter what comes my way, there is always something there to follow it up.  Yesterday was one of those days were you look at what is coming up and decide- oh this is going to call for some changes some improvements, some improvising and a little bit of making your own destiny.  I am looking forward to it!

I hope you had a wonderful week!  What did you get accomplished this week?  This is different from what are you doing this weekend- which is my normal question.  I feel like I had a very productive week and I am ready for a real break from work, time in the sun and with the family is on the agenda.

How did you like our first Designers at Home post?  If you are interested in participating please feel free to contact me as we would like to make this a regular thing here.

I fell for this photo and a million others on a blog I discovered this week.

Farm to table {a wonderful evening}

On Saturday I was lucky enough to attend a wonderful dinner hosted by Andrea @ French Basketeer.  It was a beautiful evening with perfect weather and an amazing meal.  We were welcomed by the candle lit stairway and walked into the heart of the space, a covered loggia.  Everything was just perfect from the rosemary in the ice buckets (I will be using that one thank you very much!) to the singer who entertained us for the evening.

A beautiful table with vintage dishes, silverware and linens.

 It is all in the details...  the water bottles were to die for!  These are the Christian Lacroix glass bottles for Evian.

Andrea made a wonderful meal that I am still telling my family about.  I must make that Burrata with peach and tomato.

I will say that the desert table was my next favorite.  Each creation was a wonderful temptress, and the display was really perfection.

It was so perfect to get a chance to talk with Andrea after the meal and meet her sweet little babies.  Andrea, it was beautiful and the food was fantastic, thank you for including me!

I love a good party and this one was filled with a great group, great food and in a beautiful setting.  I think that each time we visit with another we have the opportunity to learn so much and take a bit of that experience along with us to share with others. It is also an amazing thing to meet people through blogging and be invited into their lives and homes in such a special way, who would have guessed what a small world this has become.

Details of a well lived life...

Some days are more reflective than others.  The past two days have been so beautiful here at home that sitting inside working at my computer seems like a crime during the day.  I have been day dreaming and thinking a lot.

I found something that is so fun here on Kimberly's blog.  Something I love.  I am a list maker and this seems like the best kind of list - a Life List.  Aside from making this my new before bed project I have been thinking about how we need to get back to basics here at home (my home) we need to entertain more, visit with friends more, spend more time together just playing and laughing.  I have been thinking about friends and how easy it is to make new friends and how we can loose track of old friends.  In the world of blogging and design a friend can easily be a reader, a client, a fellow designer or a vendor, each is still a friend with which a wonderful common interest is shared.  So to those of you that I am lucky enough to call friend I am saying thank you for all you do for me and for making each day special.

Have a wonderful Wednesday... and I promise to not be soooo sappy tomorrow!

Lost in Arles...

A few weeks back I was feeling a little out of sorts.. a little lost at the beginning of the year, it always seems like a time when you should be overly motivated, ready to run out of the gates and get some things really taken care of, make changes and plan for the year ahead.  Well, I was in a total funk and kinda bummed out.  On a Sunday morning I had a chance to take a little time to myself and was wandering around in the land of the blogs, I came across Lost in Arles a blog written by Heather,  I spent well over an hour reading her posts and looking through her beautiful photos.   I finally felt like myself, I felt inspired and awake for the first time in what seemed like a month (the holidays really took a lot out of me this year).  I am ready to go, ready to be inspired, ready to travel and ready to take on the challenges of the year ahead.   Maybe I will visit France in the Fall this year, I know I will be working on stream lining my time and energy into projects that I really want and need to do, and maybe just maybe I will be taking a few more leaps of faith this year.

I wanted to thank Heather and thank all of the bloggers that take their time posting so many fantastic images and inspiration!
