Tote obsession...

This is a problem.. I am completely obsessed with totes and bags..  I was flipping through the new issue of Souvenir magazine and was clicking through on products that I liked, once I finished the magazine I realized that I had linked up to multiple websites, but each link was for a different bag.  So I guess I am obsessed just a little!!  I have bags everywhere in the house, I have woven bags holding my bath towels, picnic supplies, fabric samples- you name it!   I like woven, vintage, linen, pretty much anything that would carry goodies home from any kind of store or hold things at home, but I truly love to use them at the flea market and farmer's market- it feels great to come home without a single plastic bag wrapped around my goodies.

Do you love them like I do- have I lost my mind (don't answer that one)!?

My Winter Table

This year we have had the chance to have a few gatherings around our table and I cannot wait to have more in the coming years.  I fell for a picture that I found of a table done in white and linen.  This is my loose imitation with my favorite thick linen napkins and some vintage pieces that we picked up this year.  I hope you are looking forward to the new year as much as I am!

guest quarters

We have guests this weekend, and while I wish the guest room looked like this it might be TOO comfortable - if you know what I mean.  This is so subtle and inviting with the soft layers of grey, linen and white.
Are you having guests for the holidays?  How do you welcome your guests?

I always try to get the house to a normal level of cleanliness and fluff the pillows.  I typically spray the sheets with lavender water and  put fresh fluffy towels in the guest bath.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

This looks like the perfect retreat!  I love the floor, the bedding and the drapery... so perfectly wonderful!
A few hours spent here reading during the day would be well worth the hours lost.

Current obsession: Mark Alexander Fabrics for Romo

When I was up at the PDC a few weeks ago I found some Mark Alexander fabrics and I am completely in love with them.  They are soft, made in a wonderful group of colors with fresh and beautiful patterns.
I cannot wait to show you what I plan to make with them!!  So fun!

Grey and white roman shades

I love the clean lines of the roman shades in both spaces.   Perfect with the thick casing I think!

Living room makeover..

Having found my new wing chairs last week I decided that my Living room needed a little make over.  I have a pretty neutral base so it is easy to change out some fabrics and pillows and make a pretty significant change in the space.  I decided that I would like to slipcover my new chairs in a white cotton duck so that I can wash them easily and have a much needed white accent in my space.  I have fallen in love with Barbara Barry's Ceylon Key fabric and basically used that as my starting point adding texture and print from there.  I wanted to get the full effect of the space so I added a few of my smaller accents from the space to see how I would like everything together.  I am excited to make these few simple changes and update our house a little.  We still need to have the wood flooring put in and make some major improvements but this will get me started and make me feel better while I wait it out!

What do you think?

Don't forget to stop by and see us on One Kings Lane tonight!

Time to relax

Saturdays are the perfect day to take a few extra minutes in bed and enjoy the morning light.
It is easier that way to ease into what you are doing for the day don't you think?

Also, I wanted to say thank you to everyone for all of your sweet comments on Thursday!  Things are a bit better now... sometimes though!!!
Have a great weekend.
