{shop design} Rag and Bone, Los Angeles

Yesterday while I was in LA I had a chance to visit the Rag and Bone store on Melrose... I love a well done shop!   Rag and Bone is set up in an older building with access from the front as well as either end.  The doors were fantastic and they added just enough industrial detail to the exterior to make, what I am assuming was a pretty odd building, look really cool.  (Glass block is not usually on my approved materials list but it works here).  All of the industrial furnishings were mixed with their logos and labels that made them part of the brand itself and I loved the mix of vintage and classic lighting.

Clean and Simple {pond australia}

I love the simple display and clean feeling of this shop.  It reminds me of the shops in Paris that display individual piece but when you purchase they pull a freshly wrapped piece from the back.  What a wonderful way to shop!

brocante shopping in Normandie...

I know I have been promising to share more of our shopping adventures in France... so here we go.  We shopped in Paris for the first part of the week and then came to shop with Sharon from My French Country Home in Normandie.  It was a whirl wind visit once again with many hours spent shopping and loading and unloading of goodies..  This was one of our fist stops, I will be sharing more over the next few weeks leading up to our sale in September.

Now that our container has arrived and we have begun to sort and clean things it has become a reality and we have set the date for our sale which will include many of the pieces we found while in France as well as some additional treasures from here and there.

Normandie weather was a little grumpy while we were there with rain almost everyday at some point.
But the fields were beautiful and there was yellow everywhere we went.

This sweet little shop we visited the first afternoon after arriving from Paris.  She had a wonderful chicken farm out back that I was dying over!  Her shop was full of sweet whimsical little creatures and beautiful treasure, as well as a little tea shop in the back.  We warmed up with tea and treats before setting off to our next destination.

These furniture pieces were so cool.  They are vintage pieces re-purposed for outdoor use.   Looking back I wish I had bought a few.

 I did pick up this sweet little set, cannot wait to unwrap it!

Garden antiques shop in Paris...

While shopping the flea markets in Paris on our trip we happened upon this sweet garden shop in the area.  I am not sure if it was part of the flea markets or not but it stole my attention in less than a second.  The creative displays made my heart skip a beat.  I snapped a picture of the flower box hedge before I had a chance to see how many inspiring spaces they had created.
Each was a simple collection of vintage pieces but they were done so well, maybe it was the repetition or the negative space around them I am not sure even now, but I know it was they type of display that sticks in your memory.  I left feeling extremely inspired.  I loved everything about it!
